Today

Today at church we did an acoustic set, which I saw that Josh already posted the facts about it on his blog. We also did a song that I am really beginning to like called "Be My Guide" by a fellow named Brian Thiessen, and it goes like this....

Be my guide, God of Abraham,
Lead me by Your hand
You are strong and wise
I want to trust in You, and in all I do
Bring you honor and praise.

How I love You,
Great and Mighty King
You are Faithful
Through the ages
You never change.

Be my Guide, through the dark of night
Put all fears to flight
You are Hope and Truth
I want to trust in You, and in all I do
Bring You honor and praise.

Be my Guide, for the road ahead
And if I feel misled
You are Just and Good
I want to trust in You, and in all I do
Bring You honor and praise

It is a incredible song, and is a big hit in our church right now.
Also, if you have never read a book by the title of "The Practice of the Presence of God" by Brother Lawrence, who lived as a monk in Lorraine, France. It is mostly a book full of letters of encouragement that he wrote to various friends, but he had this idea of living in the presence of God, and so focusing every moment, and aspect life around God, that we become more and more like God, and as history would record, he lived an almost saintly life.

Here is a small quote from the book:
God's treasure is like an infinite ocean, yet a little wave of feeling, passing with the moment, contents us. Blind as we are, we hinder God, and stop the current of His graces. But when He finds a soul permeated with a living faith, He pours into it His graces and His favours plenteously; into the soul they flow like a torrent, which, after being forcibly stopped against it's ordinary course, when it has found a passage, spreads with impetuosity it's pent up flood.

Sweet.
